Rock Wall Wines, being the offshoot of Rosenblum, is already famous for its fabulous zinfandels. But their greatest achievement may very well be their take on the everyday (lighter style) Italian red wine... montepulciano.
Dan at Du Vin describes it thusly:
Made right here on the island of Alameda by Kent Rosenblum and his daughter Shauna. As a passionate Italian wine lover I have to say that this was a huge surprise. Californian Montepulciano, really? What a great bottle of red wine, very reserved, a lighter style red, lots of flavor and complexity, I love it.
This juice goes good with everything. Especially early Lee Scratch Perry produced Bob Marley and the Wailers. And Spoon. It's for taking the *everyday* up a notch.
Rock Wall sells it for $22 retail so with the wine club discount it's $17.60. Du Vin sells it for $19.99.
