Lava Vine's Chenin Blanc set the bar for white wines for summer of 2012. We were up at Lava Vine in June and kept sending folks there, but they sold out of the chenin before July was out because it was so. Damned. Good.
It was so damned good that we've signed up for their wine club. Except we aren't on the wine club because we are the waiting list... that can't fill demand. I shouldn't be telling you this. But I have a plan. I'm going back in early June and I'm going to buy all the chenin that will fit in the Ford Flex.
This is Shauna Rosenblum's baby. I've never seen her so excited about one of her wines... and THAT'S saying a lot. Not much was made and I believe it's already been snatched up... which is amazing considering it retails at $50 ($40 for wine club members.)
This vintage is name for Pearl Hart, the lady stagecoach robber from the Ol' American West who famously gave each of the passengers she robbed back some money so they could get a meal and a bed. She was eventually caught.
