Norcal HS Regatta at Clipper Cove

Back to back weekends in Clipper Cove that had good wind! The first weekend was a NorCal so basically practice. Simon crewed for Henry and won almost every race. The forecast was too windy for the second day (this class of boat can't handle 30+ knts.) The SoCal kids came up the following weekend for the annual Golden Bear Regatta hosted by UC Berkeley Sailing Team. Condition-wise we got a little of everything from snail race to gusty carnage. 09/2018

Henry and Jason raced 29'ers along w/ some larger Skiffs sharing a starting line. We all camped there at Cascade Locks. Simon just hung out with us. 07/2018

Argentina - Paraguay

Henry and Ryan (from SB) qualified for Team USA so we escorted them to Paraguay for a week of international racing ie South American Championships. While they raced, Kari and I backtracked for an adult vacation in Buenos Aires. 04/2017

Opti Era in Full Swing

During the Americas Cup in 2013 Simon and Henry became full-time opti sailors. Eventually they won a lot of trophies and engraved bar glasses. 11/2013

We witnessed the Americas Cup from virtually every angle. From aboard a buoy tender at the windward mark, from Angel Island, from yacht clubs, from land and the village, and from Alameda Theater. I was on Alameda's Americas Cup committee so all of else felt very involved. 09/2013
