Mostly shots around Alameda, Richmond Point, and on the Bay including Sail GP regatta.
Cityfront Racing
Simon racing c420's on the cityfront out of the St. Francis YC and also some keelboat match racing at same location.
Squamish, British Columbia
Here's where we switch to a new camera, the Lumix FZ 1000 (from the FZ 150.) Still using the Sony RX100iii too but phases out after this trip. We went to Squamish for 29'er North American Championships. Henry was crewing for his friend Jason Akram.
Return To The Gorge, 2019 Edition
After Squamish, the tribe went back to the Columbia River Gorge (Cascade Lakes) for 29'er Nationals.
Summer Stuff
Sailing, surfing, nature, just a grab bag from up and down the California coast.
Fall 2019
Henry playing varsity water polo. Some Alameda Point and a huge refinery explosion from a distance.
Hoel beats Henry to the mark with the "lift of the day" at Lucky Cove on a very desperate-for-wind day. Sometimes the puff catches you by surprise, as evidence here. There is a cliff just behind me where I am videoing and the puffs come over with very little warning.
Collection of regattas in the SF Bay Area and down to Southern California. Henry won the Summer BAYS trophy for the second year in a row and the first with SFYC rather than EYC. Simon raced opti's and 420's. He qualified for the Bemis finals in San Diego and got 15th down there. He was also "honorably discharged" from optimist sailing following WCC's down at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club.
The annual fabulous Opti Heavy Weather Regatta at the St. Francis Yacht Club on the San Francisco city front. Epic venue as optimist sailors race on the America's Cup course stretching from Alcatraz to the Golden Gate Bridge.
This year was especially exciting because Simon and Henry -- used to being the featherweights getting blown out at this venue -- both made it to the podium and were award by none other than Mr. Blue Planet himself... Kimball Livingston.
