This is a recreation of Velvet Underground's debut album done 21st Century San Francisco Style. We have Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, Kelly Stoltz, White Fence, and more.... sounds like a massive San Fran garage psych block party, with everyone surprising their neighbors with an unexpected take.
My wife hates this cover but it's usually the one laying face up on Sunday morning.
If you've never heard Thee Oh Sees, they are hard to describe. They are a San Francisco-based quartet with a lot of psych/garage influence. The lead guy wields an electric 12-string very aggressively and finds some great sounds. The have that hard-edged noize meets delicate medley feel of Queens of the Stone Age along with punk angst but a charmig 60's psychadelic ode.
